Machado Jiu-Jitsu Rules of Conduct

• We believe having respect is not enough unless we demonstrate respect. In Machado Jiu-Jitsu, we demonstrate respect by addressing ALL Black Belts by surname only.
• Gi’s must be kept clean and sanitized. All gi’s must have the required RCJ Machado Patches sewn on.
• Should you arrive late, quickly line up at the edge of the mat and request permission to enter class. The decision to allow a late student onto the mat is entirely at the instructors discretion. The instructor may prefer the student to watch rather than risk injury due to missed warm ups.
• Family members and friends are invited to watch class however, it is important that small children are contained and quiet during class. Also, only students are permitted on the mat. Please do not enter onto or walk across the mat while classes are going on if you are a spectator.
• Family members are encouraged to support their child in class by applauding good efforts. However we do not permit coaching from anyone other than the instructor.
• Testing is mandatory at all levels. Students are required to attend testing in an approved gi with required Academy patches.
• RCJ Machado Jiu-Jitsu is one of the nation’s most respected jiu-jitsu academies. As Such, we look for our students to help keep the Academy clean and clutter free. Our academy has a lost and found and will hold clothing for 30-days after which it will be donated to homeless shelters. Machado Jiu-Jitsu is not responsible for lost items.
• Students are requested to call the Academy if they are going to miss class. Our instructors monitor your attendance very closely and will call if you have missed class without calling in. We expect that all students attend classes at least 2 times per week.
